Welcome to our Daily Devotions for this week.
How did 12 fishermen, tax collectors and farmers, who were followers of Jesus, multiply to one out of every three people on the planet identifying as Christian?
The answer is the Resurrection. The resurrection of Jesus changed everything. It split our calendar to the A.D. and the B.C.
“No other event has impacted the world so much as the resurrection of Jesus Christ,”
Jesus never wrote a book, in fact he never wrote anything down, and yet there are more books written about Jesus than any other subject in the world.
Jesus never composed a song, but there is more music written about Jesus Christ than any other subject, bar none, in history.
Jesus never travelled more than 100 miles from where he was born, and yet, you can find followers of Jesus in every nook and cranny of the planet.
Jesus never drew any pictures or did any sculpture, but more art has been made about Jesus Christ than any other subject in history.
On Good Friday the disciples did not understand the significance of what had happened. They did not realise, that as Jesus hung on the cross, he was dealing with their sins and the sins of the world. They did not realise he was about to conquer death. They did not realise he was restoring God’s Creation where men and women could meet with God and come into His presence.
The resurrection meant everything was true – He truly was and is the Son of God.
Because of the resurrection we can be free and forgiven:
Romans 4 v 25
He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.
Be encouraged in Christ this Easter Monday
