9 If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. 11 As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.” 12 Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect. They have the same Lord, who gives generously to all who call on him. 13 For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
14 But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?15 And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”
This is one of my favourite passages of scripture and highlights both the wonder of salvation and the need for us to go and be ministers of God’s salvation. Praise God for your salvation today!
We’ve already looked this week at the call of God on every believer. A really important part of this call is that we are witnesses to those who don’t know Jesus. I believe this call is on every believer. To be the messengers of good news to the world around us. What does this look like for you?
Some have a specific gift in evangelism and tomorrow we have Den Pethers coming to speak. Den is an evangelist who longs to see churches and individuals engage with lost people around the world. Den runs a ministry called The Rooftop
The Rooftop’ is based upon the moment in scripture when Peter went to a Rooftop to pray (Acts 10:1-11:18).
On the rooftop Peter had an Encounter with God and received a fresh vision of God’s heart for the lost. He then went beyond the walls of all that was familiar to engage with lost people – as a result, God’s Kingdom could expand across the world. Action
Be reminded to pray for those who you long to see come to Christ
Pray for those further afield, maybe those beyond your walls. Pray for opportunities to engage people with the gospel of Jesus
Prepare yourself to enter into worship tomorrow at church and be inspired by God’s word. The Bible says that God inhabits the praises of His people. That means that as we praise together as a church family, the living God is living among our praise, his presence is with us.
Remember the amazing things God can do through people who are available to God, who pray, listen and do!
