This morning, we continue with our Daily Devotions on sharing your faith.
Luke 12 v 8 – 12
“I tell you, whoever publicly acknowledges me before others, the Son of Man will also acknowledge before the angels of God. But whoever disowns me before others will be disowned before the angels of God. And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven. “When you are brought before synagogues, rulers and authorities, do not worry about how you will defend yourselves or what you will say, for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say.”
One of the fears of sharing our faith is not knowing what to say. I think building a relationship with someone starts with us listening to them. It starts by asking questions and then getting to know the person you are talking to through their response to those questions. We need to earn the right to be heard. As that relationship grows God will give us opportunities to share our faith and often that will come through telling our story.
Here is an exercise that you can do that can help you share your faith. Write out your testimony (your story) in just a couple of sentences or one paragraph. What was you like before you were a Christian? What happened that caused your to become a Christian? What is life like for your now? Remember, your story is your unique story and whether it is a dynamic conversion or a decision you made as a child God can use your story to challenge others. You will be amazed that sometimes YOUR story is just the story that someone needs to hear.
Lastly, step out in faith and remember the key verse from this morning’s devotion -“for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say.”
Have a great day!
