Yesterday, in our daily devotions, we asked the question – How do I overcome the problems that try and rob me of my freedom that is found in Christ? Problems like:
Curses (Things that people have said over my life)
One of the ways of overcoming theses things is to know that in Christ I am accepted. Here is an extract from the Freedom in Christ Course that reminds us of this fact:
I renounce the lie that I am rejected, unloved, dirty or shameful, because in Christ I am completely accepted. God says that:
I am God’s child (John 1 v 12)
I am Christ’s friend (John 15 v 15)
I have been justified (Romans 5 v 1)
I am united with the Lord and I am one spirit with Him (1 Corinthians 6 v 17)
I have been brought with a price: I belong to God (1 Corinthians 6 v 19 – 20)
I am a member of Christ’s Body (1 Corinthians 12 v 27)
I am a saint, a holy one (Ephesians 1 v 1)
I have been adopted as God’s child (Ephesians 1 v 5)
I have direct access to God through the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 2 v 18)
I have been redeemed and forgiven of all my sins (Colossians 1 v 14)
I am complete in Christ (Colossians 2 v 10)
To maintain our freedom in Christ we should meditate on these statements and verses from the Word of God regularly. As we allow these truths to fill our minds and our hearts we will defeat things like guilt, shame, bitterness, fear and pride.
In Christ we are new creations.
Have a great day!
Tomorrow we will be looking at the fact that in Christ we are secure.
