We continue our devotions today by looking at our next two statements of truth supported by some incredible Bible verses:
3. I believe that God demonstrated His own love for me in that while I was still a sinner, Christ died for me. I believe that He has delivered me from the domain of darkness and transferred me to His kingdom, and in Him I have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
4. I believe that I am now a child of God and that I am seated with Christ in the heavenlies. I believe that I was saved by the grace of God through faith and that it was a gift and not a result of any works on my part.
Ephesians 2:6, 8-9
And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus……….For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.
1 John 3:1-3
See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.
Sometimes we don’t feel worthy of God’s love and grace. The devil accuses us of past failures – that is when we need to remind ourselves of the truth of God’s Word, “while I was still a sinner Christ died for me”. It is not about my good works but about His incredible grace.
