17 “You shall not hate your brother in your heart, but you shall reason frankly with your neighbour, lest you incur sin because of him. 18 You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbour as yourself: I am the Lord.
Do not hate your brother (Lev. 19:17).
Do not seek revenge or hold a grudge but extend forgiveness (Lev. 19:18).
We move on to what loving your neighbour means, not just in terms of how you live with generosity, how you show integrity or how justice exhibits in your life. Now we’re onto matters of the heart.
