Today we read a song of praise that comes from David to God. As I read this I almost see David beginning to praise God and then out of that initial declaration of praise overflows a whole host of things David has to praise God for
Often when we make a choice to praise, we’re reminded of the so many things we have to be thankful for and the many things to praise God for
Today take some time to read this scripture and ask God to guide you to specific phrases of David’s praise or verses in this passage to dwell on today. As I did this the following verses stood out to me:
“The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my saviour;3 my God is my rock, in whom I find protection.
He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety.
He is my refuge, my saviour, the one who saves me from violence. 4 I called on the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and he saved me from my enemies.
Verses 26-27 “To the faithful you show yourself faithful;to those with integrity you show integrity. 27 To the pure you show yourself pure,
Verses 31-36 God’s way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true.He is a shield for all who look to him for protection. 32 For who is God except the Lord? Who but our God is a solid rock? 33 God is my strong fortress, and he makes my way perfect. 34 He makes me as surefooted as a deer, enabling me to stand on mountain heights. 35 He trains my hands for battle; he strengthens my arm to draw a bronze bow. 36 You have given me your shield of victory; your help has made me great. 37 You have made a wide path for my feet to keep them from slipping.
