In our week of prayer last week we were reminded to Listen to God’s Voice. We were also captured by Jesus’ words in John 10 v 27 “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.”
As individuals and as a church we must listen to God’s voice – God is speaking to us very clearly about the need in this town. We could easily say as a church – look at the great work we are already doing. I believe God is commending us for that work by trusting us to do more.
John Dyson, a former member of Sawyers Church, said during the week of prayer:
“HE IS A SHEPHERD FOR ALL SEASONS AND HE WANTS TO TAKE US TO NEW HEIGHTS”.
That can be scary and a dangerous place to be. We may ask the questions – how can I make a difference? Where are the resources going to come from? What if we are not able to sustain what we have already got?
Despite all the questions I am reminded that – He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he causes me to stand on the heights. He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze. You make your saving help my shield, and your right hand sustains me; your help has made me great. You provide a broad path for my feet, so that my ankles do not give way. (Psalm 18 v 33 – 36)
God has lavished His love upon us and He will enable us to stand.
