To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8 v 31)

It is the truth of God’s Word that sets us free. In this day and age like no other we are trying to change what is truth. We are trying to decide what is truth but it is God who sets truth – He is the same yesterday, today and forever.

How important is truth? Here is what Charles Swindoll said in his book about the Bible:-

“In my work as a Pastor I have seen people face crisis with nothing to lean on. I have seen people lean upon relationships that crumble. I have seen people lean on reputation and finance only to see it fade away. They have nothing to lean on that will see them through, that will not change or let them down. I have seen people run from their troubles – pretend they are not there. I have seen people become pre-occupied by their troubles and it has made them hate life and the people around them. I have seen people turn to men and not God. I have seen people turn to the occult, mediums and other dangerous realities.

What holds you together when all hell breaks loose?

The Bible is the most reliable authority on earth – it is God’s Word to you. It never changes with times, it is trustworthy, it is tested and it holds the key to life, joy and peace.

It unlocks life mysteries and it is a shelter

I love the Word of God – It is our reliable guide and an absolutely trustworthy crutch”

Come and find out more about the Bible this Sunday at 10.30am at Becket Keys School.

Have a great day!
