All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16-17

As we dwell in this famous verse about the word of God we read that Paul wants Timothy to understand that the word of God is useful for teaching. The great thing about the Christian journey is that there is always something to learn. There is always an area in which to grow.

One of the finest qualities that a Christian can have is to be teachable. To have soft and receptive hearts and minds, to hear the word of God and apply it to their lives. It is very easy to be taught by the areas of scripture that speak of hope, grace, and love. It’s harder to be taught by the areas of scripture that might clash with our cultures, situations, and the prevalent world view of the day

We are to be teachable and the word of God wants to teach us. As you read it, ask yourself: What can I learn from this Scripture. Ask the Holy Spirit to inspire and guide you, to fill you and teach you as you read.

Question

Do you find it hard to be teachable? How could grow to be more teachable?

Have you read anything in the Bible that has challenged an aspect of your beliefs or behaviour?

Have a great day
