About us

Sawyers Church is a vibrant independent evangelical church of more than 250 people that meets for worship and witness in the wider community. Sawyers is an active 7-day church and we welcome many throughout the week above and beyond our Sunday life.

We are a diverse bunch of people of different ages, backgrounds and experiences of faith. What we share is a commitment to following Jesus in both word and action. Two Staff Pastors serve as part of the Eldership, together with Deacons and the wider staff team in the leadership of this church. There are plenty of ways of getting involved at Sawyers! We believe that people matter to God and that it is both our delight and responsibility to demonstrate God's love in the way we live. The Christian faith has something to say about all areas of life and we are seeking to learn, apply and live out the truth of Gods' word.

We believe that a Biblical church is a place where God moves, where people experience real love and acceptance, where lives are transformed, and where changing the local community, the nation and ultimately the world begins. It is to this end that we seek to fulfil our mission statement by 'Building a biblical community in a broken world'. God has never planned that we do this in isolation and so Sawyers Church seeks to work together in love and unity with others locally, regionally and nationally.
