About us / Where we’re going

We’re passionate that the local church is the hope of the world. A healthy local church is the most wonderful, diverse, creative, supportive, relational organism of depth, love and influence possible! We’re committed to health as a church family here at Sawyer's – hence Pursuing More.  We believe that upon realising the health that God desires for us we will continue to see God adding to our numbers.

As a church family we are committed to ‘pursuing more’; more of God in His Word, by His Spirit, space, service, souls and depth.
Physically, spiritually and emotionally we are a people who are, and have been in transition having moved from our premises in Sawyers Hall Lane in February 2007 to a local High School on Sunday mornings. We are constantly challenged by what it means to be a pilgrim people looking to God and Him only. Church is not supposed to be a cosy club, or a pious religious affair! The early church began more than 2000 years ago as a handful of messed-up sinful people trying to live lives that were more Biblically authentic and more honouring to God. The Christian church became a revolutionary movement that is now active all over the world. In this corner of God's earth Sawyers Church seeks to bring love, hope and faith to people from all walks of life by 'building a Biblical community in a broken world'. 

Longer term we’d love to see more and more lives impacted through strategic evangelistic endeavours and through the needful emphasis of church planting. By God’s grace – the best is yet to be!
