About us / Meet the team / John Morris

John is married to Val (1983) and they have four beautiful daughters, Emily, Katy, Jessica and Lucy. He is a Head Teacher at Ardleigh Green Junior School in Hornchurch and also a Trustee for the Children's charity, Watoto,which cares for orphaned children in Uganda. He was born in Wales, where his mother still lives and has a brother who is a pastor of a church in Anaheim, California. He enjoys all kinds of sport but says his ability to participate is hindered by his love of Indian food and inability to find enough time to exercise!

John has been involved in worship for over twenty years and has been privileged to lead worship at Spring Harvest with John Pantry (now of Premier Christian Radio) as well as in far away places such as Sweden and Jersey. In his previous Church he led a large worship team of over twenty people and established a Christian Jazz Venue at a local Indian restaurant where Christians could invite their non-Christian friends to share their faith in relaxed surroundings whilst listening to jazz and Christian music.

John is genuinely excited at the potential he sees at Sawyers and the church's desire to listen to God's word and to worship Him in Spirit and Truth. He is looking forward to working with the worship team to lead and encourage both individuals and the wider church family in worship.
