Sawyers Church, Brentwood is an exciting place to be! We are an independent evangelical church of around 175 people with a vibrant children's and youth work reaching over 150 young people in the community. Brentwood is a commuter town within easy reach of Central London, it's a busy town with loads of things to do and lots of young people. The church's vision is:

The intern programme will major in children's and youth ministry along with training and personal support elements. The year will be designed for the benefit of the church as well as for the benefit of you. We want to provide a great environment to foster creativity and growth.

 

The chosen intern will:

  • Work closely with the children and youth pastors in sustaining and developing the work we already do.
  • Be energetic and enthusiastic, creative and interested in working with children and young people,
  • Be excited about how God can use them in this year.
  • Be willing to get stuck into all the different aspects of children's and youth work
  • Have the opportunity to work in local schools
  • Be willing to learn and grow in their gifts and leadership
  • Be flexible when it comes to working unsocial hours such as evenings and weekends
  • Be able to work on their own and as part of the wider staff team at Sawyers Church
  • Be 18 or over

As part of the year we will:

  • Send you on an overseas mission
  • Pay for you to attend two national conferences in the field of youth and children's ministry
  • Provide a mentor, and continual training for you to be able to fulfil the role to the best of your ability
  • Provide a host home for you to live in, pocket money and expenses for all your other needs
  • Help your write a CV and develop some important life skills for whatever might come next in your life and ministry
  • Guarantee that God will use you!

 

The small print 

The cost for one intern is £6000 for the year. The church will fund £4000 of this cost, but we would expect the intern to raise £2000 towards the year.
